The return of the 1 Pump Court Charity Quiz, in aid of The Lorraine Poswa Pre-school Project in Eastern Cape, South Africa had been eagerly awaited by the quiz brainiacs of Tyrer Roxburgh & Co.
Intent on improving upon their fourth place position in the last event, the team assembled at the Wine Press, Fetter Lane on a cold November night.
Perhaps the most challenging question of the night was answered before the quiz began. What to call the team? Having settled on the imaginative and inspirational name of ‘Tyrer Roxburgh and Rachel and Zia', the team were set.
In six swift rounds the team quickly negotiated the obstacles that stood between them and the glittering trophy. They were undeterred by the intriguingly titled ‘alternative beliefs' section, and scored full marks in both the film and pictures rounds. Tyrer Roxburgh and Rachel and Zia were pronounced the clear winners and were presented with a beautiful trophy (which is on display in reception) and a bottle of champagne (which was donated to the raffle and went on to raise lots of money for the charity much to the dismay of a few of the team).
