
Debjani graduated with a Law Degree (LLB Hons) from King's College London in 1997 and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London. After graduating, Debjani worked as a paralegal in the private sector advising and representing tenants in housing cases. She has specialised in housing law for over five years.
Debjani qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 after completing her training in a sole practitioner firm in Leytonstone. She has “hands on” experience in housing law, family law, immigration, conveyancing and wills.
Debjani joined Tyrer Roxburgh and Co in 2003 where she specialises in housing law. Debjani is involved in the Edmonton County Court duty representation scheme providing free legal advice and representing tenants in possession hearings as well as providing free legal advice at the local Citizens Advice Bureau. Debjani is currently on maternity leave, but returns to Tyrer Roxburgh and Co in January 2006.
Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor, Debjani pursued her interest in litigation by working as a Clerk to the District Judges in the Principal Registry of the Family Division and volunteering in the “Hoxton Trust Legal Advisory Service” providing free legal advice and representation in housing cases. She also worked voluntarily at the “Employment Law Centre” providing telephone advice.
Debjani can speak Bengali, German and basic Hindi. She enjoys travelling, playing the piano, swimming, reading and caring for her baby daughter.
