Tyrer Roxburgh & Co was founded in 1974 by Bruce Tyrer and Tessa Roxburgh. The Partnership has grown significantly since that time and there are now five partners, twelve fee earners and thirteen support staff (including secretaries).
We are a firm who seek to be leaders in their field. We were one of the first firms to obtain a CLS Public Funding Franchise and now have Franchises in five categories of work. As well as undertaking publicly funded work the firm has a strong private client base in conveyancing, wills and probate, family and general litigation.
We have always sought to provide the local community with a quality legal service; in recent years our client base has expanded to clients from neighbouring boroughs. We have a good reputation and a large part of our business comes by way of recommendation from existing clients. We are also very proud of our links with voluntary sector agencies in the area.
Our purpose can be summed up in our mission statement:
"Providing quality legal services, which make a difference. We are approachable specialists offering practical solutions for your legal needs, both private and business. Committed to fighting disadvantage, poverty and discrimination. We also provide an open, relaxed, but professional, environment for all our staff to achieve their full potential."
We recognise that in order to provide a quality service to our client this involves managing our practice, as well as our casework, in an efficient way and our partner practice manager's role is dedicated to fulfilling that aim. The firm is financially sound as we are committed to good financial management, as well as general management. Since 1989 we have been using computerised accounting systems, and since 1994 we have been using computerised time recording systems.
In addition to recognising the need for good management, we have an innovative approach to the way the firm is run. All our staff, qualified and unqualified are expected and encouraged to participate in the development of the firm and in the decision making process - as far as is practicable.
This firm is an equal opportunity employer and will not tolerate discrimination of any kind by either staff or clients.
