Kaniz Ali

Kaniz qualified as a non-practicing barrister. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 1998 and is a member of Lincoln's Inn, the Inns of Court. From a young age she was keen to qualify as Barrister which led to her very first mini-pupilage at the age of 15 at one of the leading chambers in Kings Bench Walk, Inner Temple, London.

Since qualifying Kaniz has always worked in publicly funded areas, including immigration, family and housing. Kaniz has gained a particular interest in housing law as a result of which she has focused the last 5 years of her work within the legal profession in specialising in housing law. She specialises in representing tenants only. She finds this area of law to be satisfactory and fulfilling. Kaniz has experience of working both for the not-for-profit and private sector.

She enjoys advocacy and is a regular participant at the local county court's duty solicitors Scheme. Kaniz joined Tyrer Roxburgh in July 2003 and has been working in housing law since. She is the team leader for the Indigo team. She finds her role as an advocate and as a team leader very challenging. Kaniz's hobbies include travelling, cooking and playing badminton.
