Martin qualified as a solicitor in 1990 having trained with a medium sized firm in South East London, where he continued to work till 1992.

In 1992 he ventured north of the river and started working for the firm Coker Vis Partnership in Tottenham, which specialised in Family and Immigration. Martin joined Tyrer Roxburgh and Co in November 2001 and became a partner in April 2003.

Martin has specialised in Family work since 1990. He is a member of the Law Society Family panel.

In addition Martin worked for a number of years for a voluntary organisation providing telephone legal advice and was a member of the management committee.

Since April 2005 he has been the firm's Managing Partner.
